ITS Membership Requirements

The International Thespian Society (ITS)

The Apex Peak Players  is a member of the International Thespian Society.  This is an international honor society for high school theatre students. The troupe is open to any student that works in our productions and fulfills the requirements for membership.

Membership is earned by:

• Earning 10 points by participating in minimum of two shows
• Points are earned by acting on stage or working offstage in any capacity in an Apex HS drama department production
• Of the first 10 points a minimum of 1 must be in an area other than acting
• Points are awarded by the troupe sponsor, and are based on 1 point for each 10 hours of quality work
• After the first 16 points students also receive points for attending plays
• Students continue to earn points throughout their high school career, receiving a star for each additional 10 points, and becoming an Honor Thespian at 52 points. Honor Thespians receive an honor cord to wear at commencement exercises.
• Students earn a letter in Drama by accumulating 16 points
• Students may earn points by participating in summer theatre programs - after joining ITS
• Students may earn points when participating in productions outside Apex HS under the following guidelines:   
•         You must be a member of ITS
•         Apex High School shows must be your priority
•         If you audition for and do not get cast in an AHS show, you will receive points for an outside show that rehearses and or runs concurrently with an AHS show      
•         If you do an outside show simultaneously with an AHS show you will get points for both shows

Apex HS will induct new members into the troupe at our annual Drama Awards in May. There is a $21.00 fee for a lifetime membership, which includes a year’s subscription to Dramatic Arts Magazine. Members may or may not decide to purchase a pin or other Thespian and keepsakes.

If you have any questions about Thespians please don’t hesitate to ask me or any of the troupe officers. If you become involved in an Apex Peak Players production you will be accumulating points. Break a leg!
